We are Bob and Lise' (pronounce Lisa) Dews.

We purchased the Laurelwood in June of 1995. After spending many years in the "corporate rat race" we decided to give up the big city life and move to the mountains. The birth of our twin daughters in 1993 helped to prompt this decision! We are now living out our dream of running our own family business. Since purchasing the Inn, we have made many improvements to the existing rooms, built the log building with the suites, and a freestanding log cabin. We also purchased 8 acres of land that adjoined our property. In addition to running the Inn, God led us to homeschool our daughters and we have found that to be extremely rewarding. It is a natural extension of the lifestyle that the Lord has blessed us with. We invite you to come "get-away from it all" and stay with us. Our goal is to serve you in anyway we can to ensure you have the best vacation possible.

Along with providing you with wonderful accommodations, we are also experts on the area of the Blue Ridge Mountains in and around Cashiers, NC. We can help you find and plan such exciting activities as horseback riding along local mountain trails, golfing, fishing, whitewater rafting, antiquing, shopping and more!
